Peranakan Houses

Peranakan Houses is a street of traditional Peranakan shophouses on Koon Seng Road in Singapore, and people live in these buildings. The facades run in mint, pink and turquoise, with floral tiles and carved shutters, mixing Chinese, Malay and European architectural influences. Viewing is brief, cars use the road, and photographs are taken directly in front of the houses, so the street is looked at quietly. On hot days there is little shade while walking, which makes a long stay difficult.
