Gonbe Horumon Udon is an old gopchang (grilled intestines) restaurant in the Shinsekai alley market, serving horumon grilled with udon and yakisoba. The horumon yaki udon and horumon yaki yakisoba are stir-fried on a griddle, and the yakisoba is seasoned with salt and a moderate amount of sauce. Two elderly owners run the place and cook each order as it comes in, and the medium portion is large enough that a woman eating alone would find the small portion reasonable. If you cannot eat offal, the smell and texture of the udon broth and the offal pieces on the noodles are hard to handle.
