Japanese sweets WAKA KITAHORIE

Waka Kitahorie is a cafe on a quiet street in Kitahorie, Osaka, selling mitarashimaki and dorayaki. Its main items are mitarashimaki, mitarashi dango wrapped in a thin hotcake, and anmaki with red bean and butter or red bean and custard. The small shop is mostly takeout, with no wait on weekday afternoons and two or three groups in line on weekends. The mitarashimaki is sometimes served as pre-baked dough that is reheated rather than dough baked to order.
