Hamaguri is a shellfish restaurant in Shinjuku, a two-minute walk from Shinjuku-sanchome Station and three minutes from Isetan Shinjuku. It serves grilled clams, raw oysters, sake-steamed Manila clams, shellfish hoe, oyster doenjang hot pot, and shellfish rice, with a clear clam soup as the basic appetizer. Founded in 1972 and carried on from the previous owner, the restaurant has floor seating on the second floor. The first-floor counter seats about ten, so reservations are needed early.
