Unafuji Tokyo Opera City is a freshwater eel restaurant serving Nagoya-style hitsumabushi and eel rice bowls, located on the 53rd floor of Tokyo Opera City, about seven minutes and one stop from Shinjuku Station. The eel is grilled over high-heat charcoal, crisp outside and moist inside, and the hitsumabushi is also eaten as ochazuke by pouring broth over it. From a window seat, the Tokyo cityscape is visible at a glance, and on clear days Mount Fuji comes into view. It is a 15- to 20-minute walk after shopping in Shinjuku, and Mount Fuji is hard to see when it rains.
