TONA is a bistro in Kyoto that serves natural wine and Italian food, a six- to seven-minute walk from Exit 3 of Kiyomizu-Gojo Station. It serves gorgonzola pasta and shrimp bisque tagliatelle, and for glass wine the staff show the bottle and explain it before pouring. The space is a renovated old Kyoto machiya with counter and table seating, and the back area has dim lighting. Even when ordering a la carte, the dishes arrive at intervals as precise as a course menu.
