Men-ya - Kyoto Shimogamo

Men-ya - Kyoto Shimogamo is a small standing udon shop on the platform of JR Kyoto Station. Its kitsune udon has sweet fried tofu and chewy noodles, and orders are placed by buying a meal ticket from the kiosk at the entrance. Hand over the ticket and the food comes out within a minute, drawing locals before work and passengers waiting for trains. There are no seats and the shop is small, so you cannot sit down to eat.
