M&Maison Kyoto

M&Maison Kyoto is a restaurant in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, a 15- to 20-minute walk from Kyoto Station, that serves a Japanese home-style breakfast of grilled fish with side dishes. You choose three or five side dishes to go with the grilled fish, and you can swap the rice for corn butter rice or a grilled onigiri. Between 8 and 10 in the morning it gets crowded, and you can watch the cooking at the open-kitchen counter. Without a reservation you may wait 30 minutes to an hour, and the food also takes time to arrive.
