Kyoto Ramen Koji is a ramen street on the 9th floor of the Isetan department store at Kyoto Station, where you choose among several kinds of ramen. The broth is soy sauce based, topped with thick chashu, and pork fat is sprinkled on directly. It is busy enough that people wait to eat even at 1 p.m., and each table has raw eggs for dipping the noodles. The broth and chashu taste saltier toward the end, so it is hard going if you are sensitive to salt.
