Izuu

Izū is a mackerel sushi shop in the basement food hall of the Daimaru department store in Kyoto. It serves mackerel bozushi with a strong vinegar aroma that is not sour, and tells customers to remove the outer kelp before eating. The shop is mainly takeout, with a few counter seats and five table seats, and customers must order one menu item per person to sit. The mackerel sushi is divisive over its fishy and sour notes.
