Bake The Shop Kotochika Kyoto is a takeout shop selling cheese tarts and apple pies next to the subway gates in the underground shopping arcade at Kyoto Station. The plain cheese tart has a crisp shell with soft cheese mousse inside, and matcha tarts and custard apple pies are sold as well. The shop has about five or six seats for two, but the original tart and other flavors can sell out late in the day and orders may involve a wait. With only a few seats available, it is hard to stay long.
