Kagome

Kagome is an izakaya in Kyoto that serves sashimi, scallops, grilled fish and alcohol. Two people run the place, and local customers and travellers talk together and exchange sake recommendations. Local customers and travellers from other countries mix here regularly. Even with a reservation, seats may not be available on the day of the visit.
