Namhansanseong in Gwangju is a UNESCO World Heritage fortress. First built during the Silla period, it was rebuilt several times during the Joseon period and was where King Injo resisted Qing China during the Byeongja Horan. Buses from Seongnam reach inside the fortress, and the walk from the entrance to the viewpoint takes less than 30 minutes. On weekends and public holidays, cars heading to restaurants and dessert shops cause traffic congestion and make parking difficult.
