Bonghwamukjip is an old rice and noodle restaurant in Jeongneung, Seoul, serving memil muk, hand-made mandu, baechu jeon and hand-pulled kalguksu. The memil muk is soft with a strong buckwheat aroma, served with kimchi and a seasoned sauce. The shop occupies a converted hanok and feels cramped, and there is a wait on weekends. The kalguksu uses anchovy broth rather than a vegetable stock.
