Umutgae Lookout

Umutgae Observatory sits on the coast to the left of Seongsan Ilchulbong. From here you can see Seongsan Ilchulbong and the eastern shore up close, and view Udo through binoculars. Enter the free trail at the sign on the left side of the parking lot, and a short climb brings you to the observatory, where haenyeo demonstrations can also be seen. The stairs down to the black beach are steep.
