Seogwipo Formation Shell Fossils

Seogwipo Formation Shell Fossils is a site in Seogwipo where you can see the marine sedimentary layers and fossils built up by volcanic activity in Jeju's early formation period. Scallop, shark tooth, and coral fossils are found at the base of the Seogwipo Formation, which is designated as a natural monument. A guide is present at the temporary office building next to the site to explain the strata and fossils, and it can be visited before going to Saeyeongyo Bridge. The fossils and strata are to be viewed with the eyes only.
