Hallasan is a 1,950-meter peak in Seogwipo and the highest mountain in Korea. The main hike goes up via the Seongpanak and Gwaneumsa trails to Baengnokdam. Baengnokdam is visible only in good weather, and the round trip takes about 8 to 9 hours. The climb is strenuous and leaves the legs sore.
