Iron Flagpole at Yongdusa Temple Site, Cheongju

Yongdusa Temple Site Cheoldanggan is a national treasure in downtown Cheongju. It is a Goryeo-era structure that held flags at a temple site, and it is one of only three iron flag poles remaining in Korea. Inscriptions on it record when and why it was built and who donated to it, and an information board explains these details. The shops around the plaza are empty, so there is not much else to see nearby.
