Cheongju Samgyeopsal(Pork Belly) Street

Cheongju Samgyeopsal Street sits in the market alleys of Cheongju's old downtown. It is where the practice of dipping samgyeopsal in soy sauce before grilling first became common in Korea. About 30 samgyeopsal restaurants are gathered here, serving charcoal and briquette grilling along with side dishes such as deodeok. The street runs along a single market alley and carries a strong smell of grilled meat.
