Bongeunsa Temple

Bongeunsa of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism is a city temple located near Bongeunsa Station in the middle of Gangnam, Seoul. Visitors can look around the halls, stone pagodas, and the Maitreya Buddha, and see the walking paths and lotus flowers within the grounds. The grounds are large and a circular trail is laid out, so you can walk a full loop and take in the buildings and natural scenery. Because the temple sits right against office buildings, the urban setting feels unfamiliar to anyone expecting only a traditional temple.
