Spanish Steps

The Spanish Steps in Rome's Piazza di Spagna connect the square to the Trinità dei Monti church on the hill above. A boat-shaped fountain sits at the base, and the steps are known for the scene in Roman Holiday where Audrey Hepburn eats gelato. Climbing all 130-odd steps brings you to a viewpoint in front of the church that looks down over the city, and the view is especially good at sunset. Eating gelato on the steps is not allowed.
