Germaine is a French brasserie near Odeon station in Saint-Germain, at the entrance to the Cour du Commerce Saint-Andre. It serves classic dishes such as steak tartare, onion soup, escargot and baked Camembert, and has terrace seating. Music from the 1980s through the 2000s plays, the restroom decor is distinctive, and a large table is set up on the lower floor. On the lower floor staff come by infrequently, so waits for orders and water run long.
