Chonchon

Shimauta Live Izakaya Chon Chon Makishi Honten is a bar in Makishi, Naha, near Kokusai Street, serving Okinawan dishes such as rafute, goya champuru and sea grapes with drinks. Performers sing traditional folk songs with sanshin accompaniment, and guests join in with clapping, calls, dancing and song requests. The live shows run twice a day for about one hour each, and seats fill quickly, so reservations are needed. During the performances the whole room responds loudly, which makes it noisy for anyone wanting a quiet meal.
