Daitenji is a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist temple in Naha, Okinawa, set slightly off Kokusai Street next to Naha Commercial High School. A bell tower sits on the yellow building's roof, and chairs are placed inside, giving the exterior a look like a Thai or Theravada temple and the interior a look like a church. The site once housed the Okinawa Civil Administration's public affairs department and was the residence of Toyama Kyuzo, known as the father of Okinawan emigration. Typical temple architecture and Buddhist sculpture are not prominent here.
