The United Nations headquarters in New York runs guided tours of the General Assembly Hall and the Security Council chamber. Tours must be booked in advance and cover the General Assembly Hall, the Security Council chamber, and the Economic and Social Council chamber. A tour lasts about 40 minutes to an hour, and visitors receive an entry sticker and wristband at the visitor office after a passport check, then pass through two security screenings. Depending on the schedule only part of the chambers is open, and the building is old.
