Sukiyaki Komai-tei serves Omi beef sukiyaki in a long-established shop in the Kiyamachi alley of Kyoto, a three-minute walk from Keihan Exit 7. The Kansai-style preparation seasons the meat with zarame sugar and soy sauce rather than broth or sauce, drawing out the beef's flavor. Staff in kimono cook the first pieces of meat at the table, and there are table seats with a view of the Kamogawa and summer nagashi-dai platforms. Only a few slices of meat are served, so the portion is small.
