Kazusaya is a small izakaya near Karasuma in Kyoto that serves teppan yakitori and karaage, with a mostly local clientele. The chicken skewers come on a griddle with bean sprouts instead of on sticks, along with karaage and kimakare. At night it plays 1990s Japanese songs and old commercials, and the owner and staff talk with customers. The space is small and regulars fill it, so reservations are required.
