Fumiya Nishiki

Fumiya Nishiki is an udon shop inside Nishiki Market in Kyoto that serves nabe udon and other udon dishes. The nabe udon comes with thick broth, chewy rice cakes and egg, while the curry udon has a moderately spicy flavor. On weekend lunchtimes the wait can run around 30 minutes, and orders can be placed from second-floor seating using a Korean menu. The batter on the shrimp tempura is thick and dry.
