Shinshindo - Higashinotoin is a bakery cafe in Kyoto that opened in 1913, a five-minute walk from Karasuma Oike Station. It offers a French toast, scrambled egg, and onion soup set along with breads such as croissants and shibazuke curry bread, available for eat-in or takeout. It opens at 7:30 a.m., and customers take a seat first, order at the counter, and can warm bread at the toaster in the back. At lunchtime the seats fill up and the room gets crowded and noisy.
