Renkon-Ya is an izakaya in Kyoto that serves drinking snacks such as chicken skin, chicken hearts, and gizzards. The owner cooks each dish to order, and a person in a kimono brings the food out. When the door opens, smoke fills the room, and locals and foreigners come after work for side dishes with drinks. The food tastes good, but the portions are very small.
