N.Y.C.SAND

N.Y.C.SAND is a caramel sandwich confectionery on the first floor of the Daimaru Tokyo store, directly connected to Tokyo Station. Its signature item is the N.Y. Caramel Sand, a butter cookie filled with milk chocolate and a soft caramel cooked with fresh cream and brown sugar. Staff direct customers into separate lines in front of the shop and outside the department store, with waits usually running 15 to 40 minutes, though cases exceeding one hour have occurred. The caramel sandwich is strongly sweet, which can be heavy for older customers.
