Pontocho Alley runs along the Kamo River in Kyoto and retains traces of an old entertainment district along with its restaurant row. The izakaya street has many wagyu restaurants, and some shops sell omurice and Korean barbecue, with most restaurants displaying menus outside. At night the lights of the shops reflect on the river, while during the day many shops are not open. In the evening it tends to be crowded with tourists.
