Ishida Coffee is a cafe in a quiet neighborhood near Hokkaido University in Sapporo, serving beans it roasts itself along with desserts. Its signature Ishida Coffee carries sweet, salty, sour, and bitter notes together, and the roll cake comes topped with custard pudding and fruit. The space is a renovated house furnished with antiques, with a roasting machine on site and beans sold separately, and on Sunday afternoons a wait of about ten minutes forms. Iced coffee is a summer-only item and cannot be ordered in winter.
