Sokcho Saengtaejip

Sokcho Saengtaejip is a Korean restaurant in the Bukchang-dong alleys of Namdaemun Market in Seoul, serving seafood soups such as saengtae-tang, cod soup, and gomchi-tang. Fish that arrives the same day is cooked as jiri, while fish a few days old is prepared as a seasoned soup, and you can ask which fish is good that day. A small saengtae-tang for two comes with a whole goni fish and one whole fish, and is boiled with minari. The shop keeps its door open, so cigarette smoke from the alley drifts inside.
