Sanbul Deungsim

Sanbul Deungsim is an old restaurant in the Dadong Meokja Golmok alley of Jung-gu, Seoul, that mainly serves quick-frozen Hanwoo sirloin. The thinly sliced sirloin is grilled at the table, and a thick, salty doenjang jjigae made with beef trimmings is served alongside it. The restaurant has been open for 35 years, and the narrow interior often means sitting face to face with strangers. Because of the small space, shared tables and uncomfortable seating are hard to avoid.
