Myeongdong Donkatsu

Myeongdong Donkatsu is an old specialist restaurant in Myeongdong, Seoul, serving old-style Japanese tonkatsu. Order rosu katsu, hire katsu, or kodonburu and the kitchen coats the meat in batter and fries it in front of you. At lunchtime a crowd gathers and a wait forms, so arriving before 11:30 is better. The meat can be dry or the frying oily, which makes the food cloying quickly.
