Gaehwa is an old overseas Chinese restaurant in Seoul that serves fried meat, ganjjajang, and tangsuyuk. It sits at the entrance of the alley by the Chinese embassy, a five-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 5. The fried meat gives a savory depth the more you chew it, and the tangsuyuk has thick pieces of meat under a crisp batter. Around 3 p.m. the second floor was not open, and the jjajangmyeon with extra noodles and the fried rice arrived in five minutes; the ganjjajang has little chunjang sauce, so it is stiff when mixed with the noodles.
