Daeseong Golbaengi

Daeseong Golbaengi is an old-style eatery in the back alleys of Cheonggyecheon in Mugyo-dong, Seoul, serving golbaengi muchim alongside chicken. The spicy, sweet-and-sour golbaengi comes with hwangtae, scallions, and cucumber, with Spam, steamed egg, or noodles added, and the chicken is grilled over charcoal. On weekday evenings the tables tend to fill up, and two large TVs are mounted inside. Depending on the weather, a motorized awning opens and closes for outdoor seating, and there is one restroom each for men and women.
