Savoy Hotel is a three-star hotel in the center of the Myeongdong walking street, built in 1957 as South Korea's first privately funded hotel. Booking a standard room comes with an upgrade to a higher room category, and a 24-hour convenience store sits in front of the entrance. The rooms have been renovated, but an old smell lingers throughout, and the elevator is small enough to fill up with four or five people. The surrounding shops and pedestrians make the area noisy, so bring light earplugs.
