The former Daejeon Prison site stands in Mok-dong, Jung-gu, Daejeon. After it was expanded into a large facility in 1939, independence activists including Dosan Ahn Changho were imprisoned here. When Daejeon Prison moved in the late 1960s, the main building and walls were demolished, and the site was designated Daejeon Cultural Heritage Material No. 47 on June 27, 2001. Today only the watchtower and a brick warehouse around the well remain.
