Gwanghwamun Heonitteokbokki is a basement snack shop near Gwanghwamun in Seoul that serves made-to-order tteokbokki with half jjajang and half gochujang sauce, along with gimbap. The wheat tteok is topped with plenty of scallion and perilla leaf, and you choose one of three spice levels when ordering, with cheese bokkeumbap or mayak gimbap on the side. On weekdays before 11:30 a.m. you can avoid the line, and even at 11:40 a.m. three groups were still ahead. The basement space is small, so seats fill quickly and a wait forms during lunch hours.
