Chanyang-jip

Chanyangjip is an old kalguksu restaurant a two-minute walk from Jongno 3-ga Station Exit 3, serving seafood kalguksu with mussels, clams and mideodeok, along with mandu. The seafood kalguksu pairs soft, chewy noodles with a cool broth that carries the scent of shellfish. Mandu comes in meat and kimchi versions, orderable half and half, and one bowl of kalguksu is large enough for two people to share. A Michelin listing leads to expectations of a distinctive flavor, but the taste comes across as ordinary.
