Jeju Chagwido is an uninhabited volcanic island reached by excursion boat in 10 to 20 minutes from Jague-nae Port in Gosan-ri at the western end of Jeju. It consists of the main island and attached islets including Jukdo, Wado and Jijiliseom, where bamboo, volcanic pine mushrooms, reeds and oddly shaped rocks can be seen. Landing on the island gives about one hour of free exploring time, and a slow full loop takes one to one and a half hours, passing a lighthouse, Janggun Bawi and old house sites. There are many up-and-down sections and the stay is short at one hour, so the whole island has to be circled in a hurry.
