1100 Highland Rest Area

1100 Highland Rest Area sits on the slope of Hallasan between Seogwipo and Jeju, a stop for drivers on the mountain road. A free telescope on the second floor of the convenience store looks out over the mountain, and a boardwalk crosses the wetland in front. From around 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. people come here to see stars, and bus 240 runs up to the rest area. In winter, cars arriving to see snow make parking difficult.
