Kaeru is a small izakaya near Hapjeong Station in Seoul that serves aged hoe, fried dishes, and monkfish jjamppongtang as drinking snacks. The modum sashimi comes as soft aged hoe, and the agu jjamppong is eaten as a spicy soup snack. The small space is centered on counter seats, so on Friday evenings there is a basic 30-minute wait without a reservation. The tables are close together, which makes sitting uncomfortable for larger groups.
