Miyajima Ropeway

Miyajima Ropeway is a cable car on Miyajima that climbs toward Mount Misen's Shishiiwa and the observation deck. The ride uses a six-person gondola for about 10 minutes, then a larger ropeway for 4 to 5 minutes after one transfer, continuing up toward the summit. A free shuttle bus can be boarded near the Miyajima ferry terminal, and round-trip tickets are scanned at a QR code both ways. From the ropeway's final stop, the walk to the Mount Misen summit observation deck takes about 30 minutes more, with views of the Seto Inland Sea in all directions, and during Seongsu the wait to board exceeds one hour.
