Shichimiya Honpo

Shichimiya Honten is a seasoning souvenir shop selling shichimi, ichimi, and sansho and dashi powders, located on a corner along the road to Kiyomizu-dera. Shoppers mainly choose the strongly sansho-scented shichimi, yuzu ichimi, and gift sets. The shop has continued since the 1650s and lets customers taste the powders by adding their choice to hot dashi. Because it sits in a tourist area, prices tend to be on the higher side.
