Ryokan Uemura is a small, old inn on the Ishibe Koji lane in the Gion district of Kyoto. The building is over 130 years old and has only four guest rooms, with tatami floors and futon bedding. Guests must return by 11 p.m., and shoes are removed at the entrance. The bus stop, Kiyomizu-dera, and Kodai-ji are nearby, and the toilets and showers are shared.
