祇園の宿 杏花 / Gion Kyoka

Gion Kyoka is a modern ryokan in the middle of Gion, positioned for walking the streets of the district. Tatami floors have heating built in, and the rooms include a bathtub and a bathing basket. Guest rooms are larger than those in typical Japanese hotels, with details such as glass bathroom doors and air conditioning finished to match the wood grain. The atmosphere is not that of a traditional ryokan.
