Ryurei Tea Room "SABI" in Gion, Kyoto, is a traditional tea room that serves a tea kaiseki course of five teas with tea sweets. The course follows a tea ceremony sequence in which each tea is brewed in front of the guest, paired with tea sweets, and finished with matcha. With a reservation, guests sit in a small room and hear an explanation while tasting a course that changes with the season. The dessert has a strong incense-like aroma, which is divisive.
